Terry Wright

Typically, I do not go in for extremely modern poetry, but this one piece by Terry Wright, called "Your Myth" in Diagram issue 5.3 here is a good example of doing it well. This is a short poem, but it's packed in with a post-modern style that works.

He's practically a symbolist painter with words, and has a great sense of place. Here's an excerpt, I especially loved these lines:

[...]
Your mouth is a desert.
Open it, and sand and scorpions pour out. [...]
