I recently saw some work by J.P. Dancing Bear, more info here, and really liked it--his "Following Orpheus" here at SlipStream Press and his "Pacific Horizon" here at NoTellMotel. Here's a few lines from the latter that I loved:
we’d seen your boat upon the beach: and all day we’d been searching under sun: [...]
under the scant shade of palms: [...]
time: we gathered flowers to put in your boat: [...]
He has a great spare style, and I really like his style. It's got something classic in it, some American Hemingway type feeling. He was even chosen for VerseDaily in 2002 for "The Lonelier Moon" here and 2005 here for his "West Nile". If you like his work be sure to look at this long list of poems he's had published here.
Thanks for posting this!
