Jack Mclaughlin

Jack Mclaughlin has a great, slow and concise but symbolic pice in Dialogist vol. 2, issue 2 called "The First". It has an almost eerie simplicity, but there are many levels beneath the words. It also succeeds in the normal way, speeding past the checkpoint of having some type of beauty, it's lovely.

she went out
deeper intothe river
            If the shore trees sweep across my hair
[...]
   If their purple blossoms fall
she first saw
the tree

[...]
